Ten easy ways to improve your EPC rating

  1. Get loft insulation – ensure it is at least 270 mm thick

  2. If you have gas radiators add thermostatic valves

  3. Insulate your hot water tank

  4. Add some draught-proofing

  5. Install energy-efficient lighting

  6. Include a smart meter

  7. Replace an old boiler with an energy-efficient model  

  8. Install double (or triple glazing)

  9. Add cavity wall insulation (if there are two layers of brick in the outside walls)

  10. Add solar panels.
